Rolls-Royce Post Highest Sales In It's 111 Year History

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, a subsidiary of the BMW Group posted it's best ever year of sales last year, selling 4,063 new cars, up 12% on last year. This is the first time in the marques 111 year history that sales have broken 4,000 and is the fifth consecutive year of record high sales.

Strangely, the highest growth in the past year has been the European market with an increase of 40%, whilst North America increased by a third and the Middle Wast by 20%. Whilst 4,000 cars is not a huge number in the bigger picture, it is also worth noting that the cheapest vehicle sold by RR is the Ghost Series II which retails from £220,000 in the UK ($263,000 in the States), and that a large proportion of the customers have additional bespoke features added at extra cost which makes the money coming in much greater than with a conventional mainstream car.

Assuming continued sales success Rolls-Royce may soon become too big for their Goodwood Factory, just outside the legendary Goodwood Motor Circuit in West Sussex. Given that their factory was built in a protected area of country side they cannot expand either so how RR approaches this in the coming years will be interesting.

They'll stay there. I believe RR will be like Ferrari, limiting their production numbers.

I mean, 3 mrs aya family member already has a ghost each. Rolls-Royce is really on a roll these days.

they already outsource many things to BMW like the V12's and bodies, I found out by watching Inside Rolls Royce.

I know that V12 and bodies from top gear, they once visit the goodwood factory sometime in season 19.
